Paramedic Consortium

The program will be organized to provide the student with knowledge of the acute, critical changes in physiology, psychological, and clinical symptoms as they pertain to the out-of-hospital care of the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient. Students shall have an opportunity to acquire clinical experience and practice skills related to the emergency medical care of these patients. The educational program will be designed to provide the knowledge and skills that will result in the professional growth of the paramedic student. Three (3) components of the paramedic education program will include: didactic instruction, clinical practicum, and supervised field internship in an advanced life support unit approved by the program.

The course design is based on the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (US DOT NHTSA), and National EMS Education Standards – Paramedic, published in 2009.
