Peoria touts new traffic preemption partnership at a Media Event Monday, March 13, at 4 p.m.

Peoria, Illinois - Under a new partnership with the City and the Peoria Fire Department, AMT’s ambulances are now equipped with Opticom Systems - devices that change traffic signals to “green” for an oncoming emergency vehicle before it reaches an intersection during a “lights and sirens response”. The capability will help response time to a call, as well as transporting to the hospital.

AMT cuts ribbon on new Chillicothe station

Chillicothe, Illinois - Advanced Medical Transport will open a new station Thursday,
Dec. 1, at 1123 N. 4th St., along Illinois Route 29. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.,
with an open house to follow. This newly-constructed building represents more than a $1 million
investment into the Chillicothe community and will serve AMT’s needs far into the future as it
serves the Chillicothe Community.

AMT donates ambulance sent to combat zone in Ukraine

Peoria, Illinois - Advanced Medical Transport is now able to share that a former AMT Peoria ambulance has made it into Ukraine. The ambulance left Peoria on March 24, but an official announcement was not made, due to the sensitive nature of the mission, and the frequent targeting of emergency vehicles and supply deliveries. The donated vehicle was stuffed with medical supplies donated by OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and its Mission Partners.

Quick thinking during the Marigold Festival parade save the life of a 17 year-old-girl

Pekin, Illinois - A 17-year-old is alive and well today, thanks to the actions of a bystander and two Pekin Police Officers, among others. The young woman collapsed while watching the parade and it was quickly determined that she was in cardiac arrest. Two Pekin Police officers performed CPR.

Advanced Medical Transport acquires Medics First

Peoria, Illinois - Peoria, IL based Advanced Medical Transport, Inc (AMT) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Medics First of Springfield, IL. Founded in 2008, Medics First provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance service in Springfield. The company currently has a fleet of 11 ambulances and a team of over 40 full-time EMS professionals. With this purchase, Medics First becomes Springfield’s first and only not-for-profit provider of emergency and nonemergency prehospital healthcare.
